Salem is a 17 year old woman, born in 1993 and raised in Mexico. She has a stubborn personality along with unprecise ideologies,, she gets constantly avoided or picked at by others due to bad family reputation (father), which gives her more of a defensive attitude most of the time. Currently, 2010 she plans on leaving her home as soon as possible after turning into an adult and getting enough money. Growing up with people from around and not her home, she has a different mentality, habits and appearance.
Salem has was born with tan skin and dark brown hair, with a spiky style. She has big, red eyes with eye bags, and a really expressive face when it comes to speaking. She has an underweight body for her height (5'2) since she doesnt have a great nutrition due to her monetary issues. she likes wearing what she sees on magazines or the tv, things like head bands, shiny makeup and bootcut pants are part of her day to day style, when shes feeling confident. she has spiky and fluffy hair with big volume and bangs and hairspray. she wears an old purple long sleeve to help the cold, along with a cut up adidas jersey dropping to the side of her shoulder, she wears bootcut pants and over it her school uniform skirt, along with accesories and occassional makeup. She didnt use to style her appearance at all before, until she met Abel and started getting comfier around her surrounding enough to match the styles around.
Her temperament highly depends on others. most of the time salem has a low profile and defensive attitude with strangers or when she goes out, which is due to how others treat her, she got used to it. on the contrary, she is high energy and sarcastic with people that she trusts like abel or akari, constantly picking on them lightly and having long conversations. her experiences have shown her that its easier to be hurt being friendly, how can anyone hurt you if you hurt them first?
Salem Hernandez Salazar was born in 1993, her father being ... Salazar and her mother ... Hernandez. her mother spent all day with Salem, taking care of her and taking care of the home chores, being the woman of the house. her father worked as all day either fixing cars or homes, as a plumber or cleaning, whatever payed him good money. he came back till dawn to his family exhausted and dirty but it was enough. money was tight but it was enough, they werent hungry but they couldnt have any extras either, but they were fine with that. Salem was currently 10 at that time. Things changed when her mother got pregnant with her second child, whether it was an accident or planned it became a problem for everyone. nobody had the money to sustain the responsabilities another child needed, the food, the clothes, the space, the PATIENCE, nobody had that, which just became stressfull. It appeared easy for Salems father to come back from work exhausted and stressed to some cold beer, until that action became a neccesity. He became aggressive towards everyone, not only was he wasting his money but also his time, he did not care at all, not about his wife nor the children, he put himself first, a desition he shouldve done before even thinking of raising children. Her mother could not live like this, it was understandable but, was it more important than her child?

Its common for people to forgive mistakes, whether you accidentally dropped a cup of whine or ran into someone, it wasnt your intention, but how far would people let this go? Its a common belief people who grow up in a neglecting household grow to be a repulsing person, if theyre born in a wealthy home or with attractive features. At the end of the day nothing is your fault neither do you control it, but it destroys your life in radical ways.
This novel is a mix of fiction and my reality, the different ways people seem to see the world and how to treat others. Each character represents different types of grief, anger, sadness or guilt, different types of reactions and ways of facing the situations.
Depending on how guilty or sane you are youll consider the situation you are in a blessing or a curse, some would be happy to be taken away after committing something that wouldve probably given them death penalty... Then some would be sad that they were taken away for comitting something they didnt mean to do, even if others hate them for it.
In order to clean the world, to start all over again, what will be necessary? who will be necessary? would it be morally correct to murder other evil people in the name of justice? the world will start again soon, new and better than it ever was.
